What makes Dagoba organic? Is it also shade grown?
Our certified organic products meet USDA guidelines - made of at least 95% organic ingredients without any gmos, synthetic additives or irradiated ingredients. We go beyond cacao to use certified organic sugar, essential oils, fruits, and nuts as available. Our factory is a dedicated organic facility that is inspected annually by an organic certifier.
Certified organic cacao farms don’t use any chemical pesticides or fertilizers, the beans aren’t fumigated with methyl bromide (a carcinogen and ozone-depleter) and beans are not mixed with non-organic ones.
Our cacao is also grown in biodiverse, tropical ecosystems under a canopy of native plants that protect the cacao and provide habitat for many species.
How does Organic differ from “all natural"?
"All natural" is a term that has no legal meaning and can be used freely. It does not mean that the cocoa is organic, or free of chemical pesticides or their residues. Chose organic.
