With
Father's Day around the corner, all of us at Dagoba have
been reflecting on how our parents have shaped our lives.
I
can say simply and truly that without my dad's dedication
- or my mom's - Dagoba would not be what it is today.
When I first started the company, our concept caught on
more quickly than I imagined, as did demand and the scope
of the work before me. The logistics of running a business
quickly grew beyond my experience. My dad, who was retired,
offered to come out for a few months to help me get things
organized. As a 25-year veteran from IBM, his offer was
priceless. After a while, my dad realized we needed his
expertise full time and he relocated without a question
to become our "Minister of Money" and Chairman
Emeritus. After five years and three factory moves, he's
still here every day, working away in "Jon's Den,"
though he dreams of hitting the links at a suave golf
course.
Of
course we have our differences of opinion, but we all
do, and that is exactly what helps us all grow. What is
most important is that my parents and our whole Dagoba
family share my dedication to quality and socially responsibility.
This ensures we will always deliver the best to you, our
community, our producer partners and the environment.
To
all of our fathers and mothers, we bow with deep gratitude.
As
our company has grown, we've taken on staff who are fathers.
All of us revere them for their ability to contribute
significantly to Dagoba while being truly wonderful parents.
Our new COO Jeff Williams, has five (!) amazing children,
our Bar Production Manager Joaquin, has two beautiful
young ones and several members of our production crew
are proud dads.
May
you be so blessed as to be surrounded by family through
your life, and may you return these blessings many times
over.
Choco-Regards,
Frederick and the Dagoba Team
